1 Virtual Professional Development Hour
During this module you will:
- explore factors that dual language educators should consider when determining whether dual language students’ struggles are due to a learning disability or language acquisition
- review characteristics of language acquisition that may appear similar to a learning disability
- discover some common misconceptions regarding second language learners with special needs, and
- consider whether it is appropriate to provide dual language instruction to students with special needs.
