1 Virtual Professional Development Hour
This module is part two of a three part series: “Using Cooperative Groups.” Part one presented the importance of incorporating peer-mediated learning approaches to promote ELs’ English acquisition and educational success, and introduced the different terms that describe students working together to learn and accomplish classroom tasks. Part two explores the elements of successful cooperative learning implementation and provides specific recommendations to support educators so that they can effectively use cooperative learning in their classrooms. Part three discusses collaborative learning and peer-tutoring approaches, and provides guidance on how to implement these approaches.
