1 Virtual Professional Development Hour

English learners face the daunting challenge of mastering English language skills while also making expected grade level academic progress. Effective, well-planned instruction can help ELs meet this challenge (Wright, 2015). One effective approach is for educators to be cognizant of the language demands of a lesson and to incorporate both language objectives along with content objectives. This course explores how teachers can use language objectives to help EL’s acquire the English skills they need to succeed in school.
