At the core of strong English learner (EL) instruction, is culturally and linguistically responsive teaching. Although all students benefit from effective teaching practices, teaching ELs is more than simply “good teaching.” Effective EL instruction is good teaching that is adapted to the cultural and language needs of ELs.
